Salt, sand and wind. West Beach, Big Bay and Bloubergstrand get sea air all year and sand blown off the dunes. Standard steel brackets and cheap connectors corrode within a few seasons. We fit galvanised or stainless brackets, weatherproof compression F-connectors and UV-stable RG6 cable, and we seal where the cable enters the building. In the southeaster the dish takes a constant side load, so we brace the arm and use a heavier mount where needed.
Complexes and body corporates. Table View, Parklands, Sunningdale and Big Bay have many sectional-title blocks, estates and townhouse clusters, which makes a shared system more sensible than twenty dishes on one roof. Our communal DSTV installation service covers that. For a single unit with its own roof or balcony, ask your trustees what the rules are before we visit.
Dense building and line of sight. The dish faces north-east, and in a tightly built complex the next block can sit right in that line. We check the view with a meter before we drill, and we may move the dish to a higher position or a pole. Owners of holiday rentals and beachfront apartments usually want a quiet, tidy cable run, which we plan before we start.
