How we work

  • Level, stud-checked and secure
  • Brick, concrete and drywall
  • Hidden cabling, trunking or in-wall
  • Soundbars and decoders connected

A TV on the wall looks easy until you are holding a 55 inch screen against plaster with a drill in your other hand. We mount TVs for a living. We find out what the wall is made of, choose the right bracket and fixings, set the TV level at a sensible height and hide the cables.

We mount TVs in lounges, bedrooms, patios and pubs across Cape Town, the Winelands and the West Coast. We also handle the DSTV side: a new decoder, Extraview in a second room, or an extra TV point. See DSTV installation.

Our price covers labour. If you need a bracket we can supply one, or we fit the one you already bought.

What we mount and connect

Most jobs are a TV on a lounge or bedroom wall. These are the extras people ask for in the same visit.

  • Fixed, tilt and full-motion brackets

Matched to the TV's weight, bolt pattern and how you watch. The table below shows when each type makes sense.

  • Brick and drywall mounting

Masonry anchors in solid brick and concrete, studs or a spanning plate in drywall. We identify the wall before we drill.

  • Hidden cabling

Painted trunking or in-wall routing for HDMI, aerial and network leads, so the wall looks finished.

  • Soundbar mounting

Fixed under the TV on its own bracket, aligned with the screen and connected by one HDMI lead.

  • Smart TV setup

Wi-Fi, apps, updates and remote set up, so the TV is ready when we leave.

  • Home-theatre hookup

Decoder, soundbar, console and streaming box connected and tested on the right inputs.

  • Outdoor and patio TVs

Weather-rated screens or covered enclosures, on stainless hardware that salt air will not rust.

Which bracket suits you

Fixed, tilt or full-motion, depending on where the TV goes.

FixedA TV at eye level on a wall you sit facing, such as a lounge or bedroomBrick, concrete, or drywall with studsSits closest to the wall and holds the strongest. The ports are tight behind the TV, so we connect everything before it goes up.
TiltA TV above eye level, or a wall that catches glare from a window or lightBrick, concrete, or drywall with studsTips the screen down to cut glare and improve the angle. Good above a console, or in a bedroom where you watch from bed.
Full-motionCorners, open-plan rooms, or one TV watched from lounge and kitchenBrick and concrete. Drywall only on studs, with the load checkedThe arm extends and swings, so it puts more leverage on the fixings. We check the TV's weight and the wall before we choose it.

Check your TV's weight and VESA pattern, the spacing of the bolt holes on the back, against the bracket rating. Send us the model number and we will check it before we drill.

Brick, concrete or drywall

brick drywall

Brick and concrete walls hold a TV well, but only when the bolts go into solid material. We drill into the brick, not the mortar joint, and use masonry or sleeve anchors rated well above the TV's weight. We check for cables and pipes with a detector first. Hollow brick or block walls need different anchors, or a through-bolt, and we confirm what you have with a test hole.

Drywall is different. A TV hung on plasterboard fixings alone can pull out, especially on a full-motion arm. We find the timber or steel studs behind the board and fix to those. If the studs are not where the TV needs to go, we fit a plate that spans two studs. We tell you which approach we will use before we start.

Not sure what your wall is? Knock on it. A dull sound means brick or concrete, and a hollow sound means drywall. Or send us a photo on WhatsApp.

Hidden cabling

clean wall inside the wall

The cable is what makes a wall-mounted TV look finished or not. We offer two ways to hide it.

Trunking is a slim cover fixed to the wall and painted to match. It suits brick walls, rentals and any wall you would rather not cut. It is the faster and cheaper option.

In-wall cabling takes the leads inside the wall, so nothing is visible. In drywall we cut small openings and feed the cable through the cavity before fitting a wall plate. In brick it means chasing a channel and making good the plaster, and you will need to repaint the patch.

Power is different. We can route HDMI, aerial and network leads inside the wall, but a new plug point behind the TV is electrical work, handled by our electrician service. Please do not run a mains lead inside a wall yourself.

Patio and outdoor TVs

stays dry

An ordinary indoor TV on a covered patio does not last. Damp and salt air get into the ports and the screen. We mount outdoor-rated TVs, or fit an indoor TV in a weatherproof enclosure under a roof, using stainless fixings.

If you want DSTV on the patio, we add a point and run weatherproof cable from the dish. Rugby at the braai needs a signal that holds, so we align and weatherproof it properly.

What it costs

No surprises: you get the price before we book, and before any work starts.

Jobs start from R450

The price depends on the TV size, the bracket type, the wall and whether you want trunking, in-wall cabling or a soundbar fitted. Call or WhatsApp 081 232 2249 for a price, and a photo of the wall helps.

Send a photo of the dish, the fault or the wall on WhatsApp and we’ll come back with a price, usually within working hours.

TV mounting questions

Straight answers to what people ask us most. Anything else, WhatsApp a photo and ask.

How much does TV mounting cost?

TV mounting starts from R450 in labour. The price depends on the TV size, the bracket type, the wall and whether you want trunking, in-wall cabling or a soundbar fitted. A bracket is extra if we supply it. Call or WhatsApp 081 232 2249 for an exact price, and send the TV model and a photo of the wall.

Do I need to supply the bracket?

No. We can supply a bracket, matched to your TV's size, weight and bolt pattern, or we can fit one you have already bought. If you buy your own, send us its rating and your TV model first so we can check they match.

Can you mount a TV on drywall?

Yes, if it is fixed properly. We locate the studs behind the plasterboard and fix to them, or fit a plate that spans two studs. Plasterboard fixings alone are not enough for most TVs, especially on a full-motion arm, so we tell you the plan first.

Can you hide the cables inside the wall?

Yes, for HDMI, aerial and network leads. In drywall we feed the cable through the cavity. In brick we chase a channel and make good the plaster. Mains power is separate: a new plug point behind the TV is electrical work, so we arrange it through our electrician service.

What height should I mount my TV?

Put the centre of the screen at about eye level when you are seated, which is usually 1.0 to 1.2 metres from the floor. Higher strains the neck. Above a fireplace, a tilt bracket helps. We agree the height with you, with a pencil mark on the wall, before we drill.

Can you mount a TV outdoors on a patio?

Yes, under a roof. We mount outdoor-rated TVs, or put an indoor TV in a weatherproof enclosure, with stainless fixings and sealed cable entries. Open walls facing rain and direct sun need more thought, so tell us where it will go. We can add a DSTV point too.

Will you reconnect my decoder and soundbar?

Yes. We reconnect the decoder, soundbar and anything else, and test every input on the day. If the signal from the dish looks weak, we check that too, and can fix it in the same visit. Signal faults are covered under DSTV repairs.

Need TV mounting? Call or WhatsApp.

Call or WhatsApp with your area and the problem, or send a photo of the dish. You get a clear price before we start, and a technician who arrives with the parts.
