Where your DSTV signal gets lost
The picture on your TV travels 36,000km from the satellite, then the last few metres decide whether it works. These are the five places we check on every job.
Dish alignment
The southeaster can move a loose dish just enough to lose the signal. We align with a signal meter and brace it.
The LNB
The eye on the arm. Old LNBs fail with age and salt air, and Explora Ultra needs a Smart LNB.
Connectors
Water gets into unsealed connectors and the picture breaks up in rain. We fit sealed compression connectors.
The cable run
Sun-cracked or kinked cable weakens the signal. We use UV-stable RG6, clipped straight.
Decoder and tuners
We test every tuner, so recordings and Extraview work too, then check your channels.
